KSCS Data Support

About The Kahnawake Shakotiia'takehnhas Community Services data support project (2009-2019):

Kahnawake Shakotiia’takehnhas Community Services (KSCS), located within the territory of Kahnawake twelve kilometers southwest of the city of Montreal, strives for a strong collective future by promoting and supporting a healthy family unit. KSCS provides a broad range of services, including child protection services. Since 2009, KSCS and researchers from the Centre for Research on Children and Families (CRCF) have collaborated in order increase KSCS' capacity to collect and analyze administrative data on the children and family receiving child welfare services from the agency.  The initial stage of collaboration between CRCF and KSCS focused on two tasks: analysis of administrative data already collected by the agency and drafting of a proposal to develop alternate data collection instruments/processes. A second stage of collaboration focused on describing the broad range of services and interventions undertaken by KSCS and on demonstrating the proportion of cases in which a child is placed in out of home care. We are currently in the process of developing a third stage of this collaboration.
